i have a question related to IPT tho that u guys might possibly be able to answer.

[Communication Systems]

Do satellites utilize microwaves or radiowaves to communicate with Base stations on Earth.
Then what do wireless devices such as WAPs utilize - Radio waves or microwaves.
Ive tried googling and im getting mixed responses.

Since i do physics, satellites utilize microwaves since they travel through the ionosphere undeflected (they are higher frequency than radiowaves)
Wireless devices use radiowaves

Correct me if i'm wrong

I could blame it on terrible teaching, but yeah I can't study it, it just doesn't sink in. I got all my marks from pracs, exams are way too complicated =(

Cannot wait till HSC is finished!!!!

From the Samuel Davis IPT Textbook:

"Satellites use microwaves to carry digital signals from and to both ground based stations and also between satellites. Satellites contain transponders that receive microwaves on one frequency, amplify and then transmit microwaves on a different frequency. A typical communications satellite (see Fig 3.77) contains hundreds or even thousands of transponders."

Ah....its on tueday and i've been using revise hsc IPT in a month in 2 days....lols

I'm fu*ked....i'm 2nd in my class out 20 (theres two classes), I don;t know how that happened :)

Thursday :) And yeah.. I am yet to look over the revise IPT in a month in 1 day LOL. But ranked first so if I screw up someone might save my ass.

nope, I have been cramming in for English, should study tonight and tomorrow night... Such a pain cause the balance is so bad with the next three days

i got a 60 in the freakin independant trial
and still have to go over the option topics and also start memorising for english since paper 1 was so fucked dono what they could throw at us now!

i am truly FUCKED.

What the hell, ipt is the easy subject
yeh in theory i could go in there, do close to no study and get 70+ but if i want 90+ i need to know the definitions and stuff really well especially cause this subject scales like shit
