Do they get harder every year?

That's the pattern I seem to be exploring from my maths papers.

Nah, it just means it'll be INCREDIBLY hard this year (before they bring in mc!)

For me, the easier papers are the more recent ones... And it seems to be the same with all of my subjects...

Maybe its just me.

Ive found that they got quite hard in the late 1990's and have been getting easier recently

I have done 3 unit papers - few of them actually. But they were quite spread out so I really cannot see any pattern yet -

I didn't do 2006 and 2007 yet so I didn't see those papers. Are they easy?

I personally found 2003 hardest. That paper was so prone to so many silly errors.

Yeah, I found 2003 hard as well. 2006 was harder than 2007, but they're both not too bad. Do you think they'll make the papers harder this year?

If the recent ones were easy, well I reckon it will be pretty tough.

Here is the stat for maths paper in terms of average raw mark.

The lower, the lower the average raw mark, hence more difficult.

Would anyone like to see this and deduce some kind of pattern?

not much of a pattern if u ask me, i hope this years hard, but with hard consumer or something i can do, for 2 unit
and i hope theres not many integration ones for between 2 curves rotated around axis. i always get those wrong =(

Then it is different for individuals then. I managed to get about 118/119 in other papers except that. I actually found 1993 which was supposed to be hardest really easy.

I don't think 2003 was hard too but it is definitely harder (in my opinion) than any other papers...2000 was quite tricky though...

Yea as you said 2003 was harder than the other ones...they're making tests easier though, except 2006 3unit. That said I have a feeling they're going to make this year's HSC hard...don't you reckon? I mean last year's exams for most of the subjects were so damn easy.
