It is reprehensible that lives were taken, yes, but I don't see one side as blameless and one side as entirely at fault.

Most people here know that I really like Israel, but they're not the good guys here, and haven't been for a while (certainly not under their current government). They won't be until they accept the inevitable existence of the Palestinian state and stop trying to encroach on it with land grabs.

i dont know who that is,

but my opinion is this: the murder of 16 (i thought it was 11) civilians who were by most accounts on a humanitarian mission to help people who have been starved and oppressed by israel for no legitimate reason is a disgraceful action. even if they were on a mission to smuggle guns through the naval blockade, israel had no right to intercept them when they did, nor with the force they used.

Misconception: they did not attack the soldiers first. From the very first day, the flotilla has been filmed and film footage shows that Israel attacked first. The HUMANITARIANS did not attack them.

As always, Israel makes up something - anything - to justify itself. It thinks it has carte blanche and can do anything it fucking wants.
