Whats counted as a tutorial or a lecture?Originally posted by yc

This has been asked before but I couldn't find the old thread nor remember the replies
Is it counted as a tutorial or a lecture? I'm not sure if it's on or not? I've got 2hrs spare before it so it would suck to wait around to find it's not on.
I was in the BDM lecture stream today - the BDM tutorial is not on this weekOriginally posted by ace
Assuming you have been allocated a Tutorial from the TAS Allocation thingy, then I guess if you don't want to wait around, check out the noticeboards, or even go up to the relevant faculty and ask them politely, if the tutorial runs in the first week or not.
This would save you waiting around, then finding out the tutorial wasn't on.
I was going to do 2nd year software implementation...but that clashes with volleyball, so I changed subjectsOriginally posted by anti
Sunny why were you in BDM?! strange person you
The tutorials aren't on unless the lecturer specifically says they are (grrrr@higher data org)

The volleyball thingy is the club one. http://www.volleyball.unsw.edu.au Theres 3 different divisions you can play/muck around in.
I got a copy from a mate that did it last year. I went to the first hour of the lecture yesterday and thought I'd go to the second hour today since I was around anyway. I left after half an hour.Originally posted by underthesun
Wow.. I actually fell asleep for quite a few times in that lecture. The room was dark, and the lecturer wasn't quite engaging, and seems a bit nervous..
Is the book really that important? already forked out too much $$$ on it...
I wonder if the lecture notes will cover "all you need", or will you "need some more" from the book?Originally posted by sunny
