Re: internships 07

yep commbank interns get paid less than employees: 37500+super vs. (from memory) 45000+super.

I really want to share the package with you guys that I received from P&G, but I'm waiting to get the all clear as to whether or not I can share it tomorrow. It's ironic that CommBank's letter said I can't share any of the salary details, but I did it anyway, whereas P&G doesn't say anything of the sort, but I don't want to risk it.

Re: internships 07

you dont hav to share the P&G salary unless you are 100% comfortable with it ...it doesn't matter how much you get paid for a few wks anyway since the singapore placement is the real deal.

Re: internships 07

wait...i just realised. how will you get an hourly rate? i thought you just work in the company until the work needed to be done is done (i.e. they won't pay you for coming in an hour early, and leaving an hour late, for instance)

i'm not quite sure...but as others hav said, accounting involves with lots of overtime, so maybe auditors do get paid for working extra hours.

Re: internships 07

yep they do pay for that. i think it works out as being about 8 days paid break, or something.

CBA may well pay more for their other positions: as there's so much more competiton over the candidates, compared to marketing where they only hire a couple from hundreds, so it's competitive from the side of the candidates, rather than of the company.

Re: internships 07

Auditing VAC's are paid at an hourly casual rate (its printed on their contracts)...Everyone else in the company is on a fixed salary.

The casual rate is 'based' on a full-time salary, but if you were to take the full-time salary and break it down per hour, even after adjusting for things like leave etc. it's likely to work out to be less per hour than the casual rate.

Hope that clarifies :p

Re: internships 07

woohoo got another job offer today that starts next week and ends in late december. perfect for me to get some moneys before Singapore. It's for an advertising agency that specialises in non-traditional stuff (e.g. street advertising, street teams, ambient, mock protests, etc.).

I'll be working on their Xbox client, as well as a new prepaid Visa card (called Canvas) launching in Australia soon. Pay was meant to be $500/week as an entry level thing, but I think they'll increase that because I'm quite experienced (especially as they're giving me a shitload more responsibility than they originally advertised). Will get the full pay details on Mongay.

Total Package: ~$50,000p.a. + an additional 10.3% super to their own fund that they have created
sounds pretty nice, but does it only apply for singapore marketing interns though?

It's $3,040/week+super for non-singapore interns, which is a bit more than commbank were paying.

Re: internships 07

this is an internship, though, not a grad job. I think the marketing average for grad is around $45,000. Do you know what it is for accounting and other fields?
