How much does Iron Maiden rule? Post about it here.

Few ground rules.

No, Iron Maiden does not suck. They sold 80m + albums, and you dont do that by being pathetic.

No they did not sell out.

No Blaze Bayley bashing for heavens sake.

To start it off...

Iron Maiden kick arse. I listen to Powerslave, Seventh Son, Somewhere in Time, Piece of Mind et al songs every day. Live After Death has to be one of the best live albums they released, althought Death on the Road and Rock at Rio are very good as well.

Favorite album cover:

Ah yeah, I saw that sometime last year. Good show.

I love that album, too.

They're pretty damn good for an old band, imo.

nicko's an awesome drummer, it's amazing that he only uses a single kicker too.

I'm more of a fan of earlier maiden (until the mid to late 80's), but i can't rule out the other eras...I mean my favourite song live is Fear of the Dark and that was in '92 i think :p

I love Children Of Bodoms version of The Trooper.. Don't think i've heard the original one. But i can tell it at least has some quality lyrics :)

I love Fear of the Dark live version, where the audience sings the opening riff.

The Trooper is also awesome. Run to the Hills as well. It's great, classic, epic stuff.

My brother sort of ripped aaalllll of his Iron Maiden onto my comp and I need to work my way through it and appreciate it all, rather than just listen to it. Some 52 songs worth. Yikes.

That was unnecessary/un-called for.. Liking death/power metal more than classic metal is uneducated these days?

No. Referring to yourself as a metalhead without having heard that particular song is.

Oh, well that's fair enough. I admit, im not much into older metal at all.. That'd probably be the only sub-genre that i haven't really given a chance just yet.
