i heard that peak hsc for chem is only worth it if you're in Roy Fu's class, which tbh idk abt
anyways i asked for me to be placed in his class and they responded w (bascially) 'no'

regardless of the tutor or not, is it actually peak for physics and chem? bc APPARENTLY im not dropping physics (the head teacher refused to sign my discontinuation form)
any reviews will be considered, thx guys

(also i signed up for the free trial but they already sent me an invoice? i dont like that lowkey)

for a couple of reasons (she stated 9) that i can not be bothered stating but essentially: she thinks physics is good for me and that i can do good in it
If I were u I would literally force her to sign it and not leave the room until she would sign it lol. But how can they force u to stay

1. i had to pee
2. its not that big of a deal
3. she said she'll sign it at the end of term/beginning of term 1 if i wont change my mind

hey, I currently go to Peak for physics (not chem)
From my experiences my tutor is alright because im ngl he is on his phone for like 30 mins a lesson because no offense my class cannot do simple calculations like for example we had a question that said an electron displaced on an equipotential line and asked for the work done. Using W=qV where (V=0), we get W=0J, but unfortunately my class spent 10-15 minutes figuring that out. And the tutor himself looked visibly disappointed, and irritated so he gave us another 10 MINS and just stared at his phone. I'll be honest based of my experiences for mod 5 physics, my class seems really incapable as they don't even do the HW, like only 4 kids in my class actually do the HW and can contribute in class. The only arguments for going here, is the exam they give which in my opinion is a great exam to test your critical thinking and mathematical ability, theory wise I would say its not too hard however emphasis on their exam being good and great at determining your understading cuz the scenarios they give are pretty tricky (Note getting 80%+ is good indication). Furthermore, their homework is actually pretty good (note they do compile past HSC questions and reuse them) nonetheless its decent and so are the solutions. They do actually regularly, hand out compilations of trials, HSC questions which is pretty useful. Mainly, I go for the resources and the exam and I understand my tutor is good but the fact my class is just incapable of doing 'basic' questions is what causes delays. I'm not trying to say I'm high and mighty, and superior its just I feel like such basic questions everyone should get especially since your are going 'tutoring' and getting extra help. Anyways, PEAK HSC is cheaper than most and offers discounts if you do well on the exam (TOP 20), so If u were to attend here my advice would PLEASE go to the Parramatta campus and try self-study the theory for the modules since HSC physics exams are heavy theory based, but PEAKs got u covered for all the calculations pretty much.

how are people struggling with hsc physics calculation questions 💀. It's legit just calculator work 🤣

I mean the calculations in my tutoring are actually challenging especially the last questions, but nonetheless I do agree with your point. The reason people struggle in my class is they don't understand basic theory nor do they put effort outside of class.

im looking for a tutoring that can help me understand both theory and calculations, not just both yk

yk during the middle of term 2 i have decided to completely slack off from physics (basically i would sleep in class, not do any homework, dont study and not contribute) so you can say my year 11 skills are very questionable, is that gonna affect me at peak?

If you don't mind me asking what level of maths do you do?

See, I will highlight a few thinks PEAK does not cover well for module 5 theory. I had to figure out things like net torque being needed for the object to sustain the vertical circular motion, since the net force varies at points in the scenario we swing like a yoyo or something. For gravitational fields they literally just gave us pure calcs, like I had to go researching to find graphs and understand why there is a negative on the formula. But otherwise, they are pretty good. BUT Please, no offense if you do standard math for PEAK exams you will fail. I personally think doing 3u maths is great for understanding physics in general and also doing good in the tuition exams.

I will be honest, to learn theory textbooks, youtube, personal curiosity and questioning is key while being exposed to a wide array of questions. No tutoring can just help you write 'exemplar' responses for theory, its only through you being exposed and essentially pestering your school teacher can your understanding of the theory be reinforced, but still tutoring is a great place to ask questions and still learn theory

It's negative because of integral calculus

You're integrating GMmr^-2 with respect to r, which produces a negative integral, the -GMm/r

i do advanced but i did extension all of year 11
(i recently dropped bc ext 2 isnt running and i dont want to waste time/effort for a single unit course)
you should've kept ext 2. You may not get an E4, but even a low E3 is way more valuable than a useless band 6 in two unit. Same workload as advanced for a band 6
