Say if the top mark is 80 in the SC, then that person gets 100. This means that if you got like 70, they may align your mark so you get 90.

hey is there a chance that they'll scale marks by only a few numbers. im new to this country n my parents made me study hard out for the school certificate. if i dont get 95+ im doomed. i usually do manage to get band 6s in all my subjects but they're low band 6s like 91 or 92. is there a chance that my 94 will get aligned to like 98?

Yes. It depends on the state average. If everyone went well then say 80% of people with a raw mark above 90......then the 91's, 92's 93's will be aligned down. The school certificate is a competition......even though noone cares about it...lol.

I think there is a great chance that your 94 will turn into a 98 though coz the majority of kids fall between 60's and 70's which means you would be aligned up. Also, these tests were "unusual" so that makes your chances even better.
