Seriously, nearly every thread in this forum shows a link to a SMH story then starts the forum from there. I know it's a good source and all that, but come on it seems that we can't explain the sitaution for ourselves.

I think it is cause google news comes up with smh alot.

I would say it is sponsored by google news.

yahoo news acctually has more sources, but to my experence google news is better and has better layout.

Is Lorie talking about users (esp asqy) using a SMH article in order to start a discussion in a thread?
I mean, that's what I thought originally but JM's answer kinda threw me off...

i dunno... if you look at it that way, it is just people being lazy to type up their own view if it agrees with SMH

Most people realise that the SMH is a more reputable paper than its cross-town rival the Daily Telegraph. Many threads also include links to news.com.au and The Australian. Overwhelmingly I'd say that the SMH is preferred though. Personally, I find it a more interesting and intellectually stimulating paper.

That, and the fact that SMH.com.au is a lot better designed, and a lot more comprehensive.

The only reason we used the library was to get the SMH for about 15 cents

SMH is much more intellectually stimulating than the other papers. Another thing, the other newspaper sites' formatting riles me for some reason.
