Do the maths. I support neither, Israel instigated this war and has led an atrocious campaign against a territory without anything that could be considered an army. Bare in mind the Gazans are sick, hungry and dying.

You know it's always been true that my side in this debate haven't been the best at articulating the points of contention in regards to this issue as well as the other side. It doesn't take a brilliant scientist (such as Einstein) to work out how Gaza can solve this. If Hamas stops firing rockets into Israel, then Israel will leave gaza. Simple. Until then israel has every right to destroy gaza to stop attacks on its civillains by hamas, the elected govenment of Gaza.

police officers are taught restraint, they are disciplined (unlike Israeli soldiers), they wont shoot everything that moves.

If Hamas stop firing? They stopped firing since July, and what did that get them? They were starved, theeen Israel fires into Gaza. You cannot expect Hamas to be silent, and Israel to do as it pleases. If one side stops firing/treating the other like shit, then the other should stop too.

And NOBODY has the right to destory ANYTHING. Israel is targetting buildings with over 100 people in them, which is why so many civilians are injured/dead/dying. No matter who the elected the government, the people shouldn't have to pay the price. PLUS i don't recall seeing 5 year olds going to vote for Hamas.

Ohh, and as i said before, just before this 'conflict' began, Hamas wasn't very popular. Now that's changed though. So please do thank Israel for this.

I hope you mean Hezbollah, not Lebanon, and they didn't learn any lessons from 2006 anyway... as far as I can tell they're still firing rockets into northern Israel. And really, the way you're speaking makes it look like Israel won the war against Hezbollah in 2006, which it definitely didn't.

And I bet most people in Israel can't wait to get rid of Olmert.
