Well the dividing by 0 is obvious.

|x|>0 (since x≠0)
∴ if x>0, |x|/x=1
if x<0, |x|/x=-x/x=-1 (since |x|=-x, if x<0)

Pfft no, but it is a reason it is a piece graph, two straight unjoined lines seperating different critera.

y=|x|/x is the same graph as y=-1 x<0, y=1 x>0
