The L platers rules

Dont you think it sucks that now L platers have to do 120 hours... I dont think its really fair... It means you have to be able to do 10 hours a month n with parents like mine it isnt possible... Plus there's the issue of petrol prices... The government needs to make a change:vcross:

Here's an idea.

Just do 50 and make up the rest !

I am yet to meet someone who didnt make up a portion of their hours log book.

I recorded about 20 hours legit, but did much more than that but couldn't be bothered writing in every 40 minute drive, so I made it up and then passed first go because I'm not shit.

Re: The L platers rules

I know someone that did 10 hours and passed the test. If you're not retarded i would think you could only practice in a few hours and pass the test. As long as you know the rules and how to park, it's pretty easy.

I have a brother, just got his Ls.

It'll be epic, if I can stomach it.

I made most of mine up, but I'd done way more than the 50 hours so meh.

Full license here,

The secret for you Ls guys is to do your driving lessons, but whenever you fill in the log book, just
- triple the hours
- triple the distance
and you have a realistic record of your driving with a third of the cost

Re: The L platers rules

I get my full licence in August hopefully.

And mine's the only manual car in the house so I might teach my sister how to drive when she turns 16 next year. I could also teach her friend whose parents are shyt drivers, for a reasonable price.

Dad's pretty pedantic, I did about 100 hours and didn't make any of it up.

The more driving, the better. Just be really really pushy and get your parents to let you drive everywhere.

You've just "meet" 4 people.

I know people that made it up and played the system if you will, but equally I know people who did all the hours they logged and like others said and then some.

In away it's kind of annoying that people can be so dishonest and probably help to contribute to the reasons these new laws have been brought in, if teenagers care so little about faking hours then a breaking the road rules and whatever else the government/media are angry about isn't exactly a stretch.

maccasjunkie - yes the new rules "suck" but nothing you can do it about it, so no point complaining now the government got it through if anything the laws will only get tougher for L/P platers in the future.

And that is what makes it so unfair... Why are we being penalized for mistakes that we havent even been given the chance to make
