During 2001 the syllabii for many subjects changed. In Legal studies, it has said to have impacted grades as only 1% (approx) achieved band 6

now in 2011, it has changed again. So does a syllabus changed really impact on the grades? Like will on average, marks be low because many can't study past papers etc?

Certain sections will count for less and some count for more now during the exams..... the Human Rights Section counts for more now, looking at the specimine paper...

the questions are relatively the same or similar (theres now 20 multiple choice) so you shouldnt have a problem with it plus a lot of parts have been cut out of the syllabus.

I'm actually getting quite worried about the raw cutoff for legal studies...
it might rise though...

Oh really? I thought the syllabus change has made the crime section count more? I mean my school did a lot on crime! i think it counts for 30%?

Bottom line= i hope our cohort for 2011 WONT have a disadvantage in comparison to past years due to syllabus changes.

I mean Im confident about my ranking and my potential but i hope that there can still be predictablility in the exam :S

I think there's a specimen paper out.. I saw one today that my legal teacher had :p

EDIT: there is a specimen paper right here
The format is now 20 multiple choice, 30 marks worth of short response and 50 mark extended response xD

i believe the last two extended resposne are kept in the same format i.e. u do to focus studies such a family, consumers or world order. This totals to 50 marks (25 marks each). The multi choice is 20 marks and the short reponse is 30 makrs. There is no longer a structuted essay for crime. The law and society section has been removed meaning less content for u guys to cover. Apparently crime can now be part of the multilpe choice >.>

just things i been hearing frm teachers but good luck with ur studies d(^O^)b

that probably means that the syllabus has dumbened down...
I remember the 2002 paper had a huge extract to read and you had to comprehend it..
in recent years there's nothing like that

the paper's a lot easier... and I have a feeling the cut off for band 6 might rise...
