he was talking about the 1960s.

and plus if you read the case study you would understand.

but you must not have read it
If your read his case study you would understand he was talking about how roads were made for technology back in the 60's, and had not accommodated current technology.

But you must not have read it.

36 over in a 100 zone isn't that bad to be honest. Heaps of country roads you can drive 150 safely.
yeah. sure.

if you want to die very quickly. motherfucker, 90% of the roads out here i wouldnt speed on. theyre shit.

the road between bathurst and blaney is pretty good actually. anything west of bathurst is a fucking death trap.

No, because I can safely judge when it's safe to go over 100 and when it's not. Explain why I would have a servere accident on a straight road with virtually no traffic? Are you aware that in the northen territory speed limits are 130, and in most European countries it's 120 or more?

Edit: 100 km/h speed limits are from a time when cars weren't built nearly as well and had significantly worse brakes, suspension, crumple zones, no airbags, useless seatbelts (if any) and worse tires. "Speeding" isn't a factor in any accidents. Driving too fast for the conditions is. There's a big difference.
funny story actually

about two weeks ago a dude from my town died after rolling his ute at 200km. it was a dead straight stretch of road.

Yeah then I'm fairly sure that 200km/h is a bit too fast for a table drain.
the point of the story was;
it was a dead straight stretch of road but it was also riddled with pot holes and was as uneven as all fuck. needless to say at 200km/h he didn't have the reflexes of a cat and drove into a table drain.

i didnt see the wreck but i hear it was epic. and by epic i mean the engine was 50 metres away from the rest of the wreck and he was propelled through the windscreen

well dude, the table drain was along the side of the rode. i doubt the table drain was even on his mind as he lost control at 200km/h

the table drain could have been up ahead of where he couldn't see.

Then he was asking for it by pushing 200. Do you honestly think I'm advocating at travelling at such speeds?

anything west of Bathurst I don't advise speeding on. the last thing i need is a motherfucker speeding and losing control and driving into me.

no of course i don't think that, only morons would advocate for such speeds
but he deemed that road safe enough to go that sort of speed, this is a argument for speed and conditions.

is it not?

he would of known the road, as he lived around the such area.

i have found some more statistics and a case study

"In a 60 km/h speed limit area, the risk of involvement
in a casualty crash doubles with each 5 km/h increase
in travelling speed above 60 km/h"

November 1997

this proves my argument.
10 years old and not talking about highways. You sure showed me.

I'll repeat for the like 5th time: dependant on conditions. Other people coming in the opposite direction is a condition. Being on a shitty road is a condition.

he knew the road which is what perplexes me even more. he would have known how sit it was, i think he was just pushing his luck that day.
