Yeah, I've seen The Virgin Suicides. I liked it, but I agree, Lost In Translation is better.

if u turn up the volume in the whisper with good headphones on ...i recon it sounds like

"i love you ...nothing will come between us...ok?"
hmm... that makes it a much better ending

That's a nice theory, but Bill Murray actually said at an interview that we're not meant to be able to hear what was said. Besides it works much better that way

i liked this movie alot, in particular the ending. i dont really want to know what he whispers to her. and i dont think the ending was predictable at all.. i agree with asqy the predictable ending would be them getting together. or even if both of their marriages ended or something, that would be more predictable imo.

Yeah, I don't want to know either. I think it was the perfect way to end the movie.

And whatever he says, he definitely says "ok" at the end.

this movie is such a meaningful movie
Lost In Translation is most boring movie i have ever seen!!!
Ive seen movies that are hundreds of times more meaningful than that shit.
The only good thing about it is the song at the strip club called "fuck the pain away" by Peaches.

yeah you'll need to take a friend with half a brain, because there is no explosions or crappy hollywood love story to keep them awake...therefore the obtaining it by ....ahem alternative methods
You just say that to make youself sound sophisticated.

those who did not like this film did not understand it, and would therefore be better off with something on their intellectual level, such as bad boys 2, fight club, armageddon or donnie darko.

about 2 yrs ago, i found myself stayin at a top hotel in japan during a transit flight....and the emotions that were evoked as i walked thru the corridors and down the hallways of the hotel....it was exactly how i felt when i watched the film. i mean, it was amazing.....the place was mysterious, exotic and exhilarating all at once. i guess, i knew first hand at wot scarlett's character was feeling. and funny thing, i fell in love wit an older man while in japan too. but he was japanese. lol

The best aspect of LiT is the subtle body language and human interation IMO. It's the way Charlotte and Bob looks at each other - at the bar, in Bob's hotel room... The karaoke scene in particular is.. truly amazing.
