you see, how this usually works is the studio gives them money to make an episode then they go and make it. complicated i know, but it just the way the system goes

because hes talented and light sup the screen when he comes on. The producers had a diffrent idea for Hurley (he was supposed to be an old man) but when Jorge Garcia auditioned they remodeled it to suit him because the loved his abilities so much.

hurley was the 1st cast member to be signed up, i read somewhere...

besides its a "magical" island, so he might only slim down by 1 notch of his belt every 2 months or something, which is 1 season
