Greetings all,

I am studying a BSc/BSciEducation and USYD next year. I really want to study physics after a newfound interest in it during my gap year this year, however I didn't take it in the HSC. I also studied 2 unit Mathematics, receiving a band 6. How viable is it for me to participate in Uni physics considering I do a bridging course or two?

:)

HSC Physics isn't very useful for university physics. HSC Maths would be a lot more helpful (4U would be the best).

It depends on what your exposure to physics is, as integrand said, university physics is quite unlike HSC physics-it is very mathematically demanding, ideally you would minimally have a very solid 3 unit maths background before you did physics. It is also useful to differentiate between interests and passion, whether physics is something you pursue in your own time or as an entire major in itself is up to you to decide.
