Yes I think so too, it is just on the fringes of law of denial of service attacks.

There needs to be tougher anti-spam laws throughout the world, and divisions within large IT companies (such as Microsoft, Apple, Symantec) to actively track down spam hubs and shut them down.

I might make a radical guess, but theres prolly more money made from spam, or "excessive and annoying advertising", than software companies making programs to prevent it.

I'm horrified at the thought that somewhere, someone is making money from half the crap I get sent. One of my most favourite spam emails ever was attempting to sell me a portable lockpick. I emailed them back stating that I was interested, but wanted them to clarify the exact nature of the product, and contrast it to other non-portable lockpicks currently available, but alas, never received a reply.

LOL!

Spam scares me. It means that someone (somespider) has tracked me down through my internet usage and is hence breaching my theoretical anonymity :p

I think it was a good idea. :)

Funny that as this occurs, my gmail account has suddenly been found be spammers, despite the fact I've not told a soul about it. Perhaps inviting people is a bad idea.

Spammers are scum.

What, all 3 of us at the same time? o_O

I don't believe that's coincidence. And I don't think brute force could hit upon a correct permutation 3 times for which the email belongs to people who knows eachother. That's very improbable. Either a spiderbot has gotten very smart, or somebody has sold them.

My G-Mail started getting spam too, and I don't use my G-Mail at all... It must be brute force.

My G-mail has been as well, all so far have gone into Spam. Along with some cadetnet ones (which shouldn't have been, but I understand why).

One of them had matthewnicholls36 as the address thing and I don't know how they could get that, the spelling is wrong.

Hm, weird. I haven't got any spam through gmail, but about half my friends who have it, are getting spam. I guess the spambots are being updated. Or something. At least gmail catches them in the spam folder.
