can someone help me with these thanks

1) a football was kicked from the ground into the air for 3.5 seconds, what was the maximum height of the ball?

ive been given that question and just dont get it at all

well, if its the same time going up and down then it'll be at 1.75seconds, thats all i can tell from that

Thats like a physics question
change in y= ut +.5at^2
so y= 1.75u + 15.00625

just need to know the speed that it was kicked at. Or how far away it landed horizontally then you could sub the change in x to x=ut to find u then sub u into the formula above

it wouldn't be equal time cause on the way up it's based on initial velocity reduced by gravity, then on the way down it's all gravity acceleration.

But it IS a parabola question or a limits question probably, if that helps...

and maybe you can find the max height as a value of 'x'
