I doubt they would hire anyone who is 19, I'm 18 and I practically get no shifts
they are big on saving money and will stick a 14-15 year old on instead, in my experience

Any company will do that. That's exactly what happened with Woolworths.

Yeah, it's basically the crap pay and constant grease. I worked at Burger King and didn't eat their stuff for 12 months after I left...

But the social aspect of working in fast food thingos is awesome, especially when we didnt have a proper manager. Everyone did whatever they wanted, and stuff was fun. Now I'm on the search for a new job... Bunnings let me go

i think a 19 year old person gets paid like... aroun 12-13 or something
a 16 year old gets like 7:60 and a 17 (me) gets 9:50 and hour
so going by the logiz of jumping wages... should be around 12-13
and Maccas DO hire older people, though its for thir cafes, they prefer people over 18 for them

Yeah I wondered about that.... in Albury maccas they start cutting down your hours when you are 17 lol.

KfWang, are the cafe staff hired separately to their normal staff?

Not legally, minimum wage for a 19 year old is around 12

um im not too sure, i think you might have to mention your trying out for mccafe, so yuh probably. Im not sure why they have to be over 18 though, do they serve alcohol?

theres loads of telemarketing, sales jobs out there for you guys, or even working at a cafe, is better than mcdonalds.

Highly recognised for wat?
for going to work at other maccas stores? to work at restaurants?

at the least when you work at a cafe you learn how to make coffee or something. (well i dont know cause i worked at gloria jeans, of which, you can ALSO apply on the internet, if you looked hard enough)
And at telemarketing you develop some skills in dealing with clients or *turning* clients, or somthing along those lines.

and dont tell me working at mcdonalds helps you deal with clients, all you say is 'hi what would you like?'

McDonalds training is highly recognised and valued within the workplace. My dad has employed people for years and if someone has Maccas on their resume, it looks a whole lot better.

I don't know what it is, but there is something in it that makes it good.

It's the fact your willing to work you arse off for a company for shit conditions... It shows your motivated, hard working. Qualities employers try to find in their selection process.

It is better to have worked at Maccas than have worked no where.

My dad owns a pizza restaurant and the sole reasons he hires McDonald's ex employees is
1. They know how to clean
2. They usually have only been fired (or had their hours cut back) because they are old, not because they are bad workers.
