Just letting you know that Med Revue 2006: Thrush Hour will be on at UNSW from Tuesday 2nd till Friday 6th May each night at 8:00PM. It's a large annual comedy show on at the Science Theatre which also has singing, dancing, videos and voice overs. Tickets are $10/$15 (concession/adult) and $8 for everyone on opening night (that's Tuesday). It's looking to be a really entertainig (and cheap!) night, plus the cast of 43 have put in about 200+ hours of rehearsal time into it. Proceeds go to the Sydney CHildren's Hospital.

You can even book tickets online - yay! Just visit http://www.medrevue.unsw.edu.au and follow the instructions (but make sure to turn up before 7:45PM on the night to pay for them or you will lose your booking). I've also attached an e-flyer.

It is numbered seating, so I recomend getting in early to get the best seats. You can also buy your tickets at the door on the night (again, turn up early to get the better seats).

I think it was a homage sort of idea.
Actually it was written for last year's show, but it was too late to be included in last year's Med Revue. So it wasn't copied, though anyone who saw both shows could be expected to make that link.

Somehow I feel ashamed that I found this year's Med Revue to be funnier than last year's CSE Revue... It seemed bigger and more polished - but I assume there's a difference between seeing the CSE Revue on a DVD and seeing it live. Can't wait for this year though - hopefully we'll work in a few Med jokes, since we were their main target.
CSE Revue was much better live. And those CSE jokes were only there on the Wednesday night when almost 1/3 of the audience were with the CSE Revue crew. Normally we pay out Med students (I love having a cast of 39/43 non-Med students :))

I thought the Dance Dance Evolution had a striking resemblance to CSE's 'France France Revoloution' last year!
Hehe didn't see CSE's last year. In fact, this was the first time I went to a Revue (since my friend was in it). I was really impressed... hopefully I'll get to go to the CSE's too.

When's the law one? Has that passed?

It's in second semester. It clashes with CSE Revue.
No it doesn't... The semester has 14 weeks, that's along time for things to co-exist and perform.

Why? :\

You're not in CSE, and you've never been in a Revue before

Objectively speaking, how does that == patriotric to one way or the other?

It was hilarious! Went last night (Friday). Though was there meant to be anything in the frequent racist, feminist and anti-Christian jokes? I noticed it changed from African-Americans to Asians jokes, feminist jokes all the way throughout, and there was the bit about Mary being the virgin mother of Jesus, and the blogs of Jesus, God, and Moses.

Other than that, it was very enjoyable indeed. Oh yeah, what was with the meowing sound the voiceovers were doing? the band played it again later. I liked the MyLumps video--clever. The telemarketing Indian god was funny too, esp. after he presented himself to the extreme slapping girl! :D  Hypochondriacs was also good, as was the guy who tried to bargain for his life after being told he had only 3 months left to live.

Just so many good things to say...absolutely fantasmorigcal!
