yeah like you said, its really hard to get into medicine, but i recommend doing it post grad... like i thought i really would want to do it, but i didn't get in, and i'm doing advanced science at usyd, and i must say i'm pretty happy i didn't.

This course allows me to try out other things before i decide what i really wanna do... besides... whats the rush? uni kicks arse... enjoy it while it lasts

Jess, r u selling ur umat papers after u do it?
you mean me? well, not too sure about the 'selling' bit, but what i'm trying to do is copy the papers and save them onto my computer, then lend them to people/friends/siblings. Sooooooo, once i've done all the tests, then i'll try to post up the tests (if i can figure out how, coz i am pretty computer illiterate ^^')

..... i hope this isn't illegal.... lol

you could be a peepolfrend. They're special. :)

eh, i never notice when i get pm's anyway...

well, what i did was just copy the source code, and then create a new webpage with the same source code, but just delete/remove all the links and things that link it to medentry..... it's slow work, but a sure-fire fool-proof method.

i seriously hope there aren't any medentry spies here...... *looks around suspiciously*

Uh, I hate to break it to you, But Medentry doesnt give raw scores.

The percentages (which I assume you are using) are NOT the same as the RAW SCORES. The raws scores are calculated using some top secret method that no one but ACER knows.

They in no way correspond with your percentages.

And yes, being 'rural' is great. I knew i lived in Dubbo for 8 yrs for a reason...
Ahh, ok, i just have to kill someone and i'll be right back

A past student said thats how they do it, knew it wasn't that simple. The medentry percentiles are still bullshit tho, way too competitive for any real comparison.

i know that when i did it in year 11 , when we did a trial exam , my umat score was 187 or something close to that. this year it went up to 226. =] which is a pretty big jump if you ask me ^^"

Some you do, some you don't. Also, for interstate you use VTAC, QTAC, SATAC, UTas and TISC instead of UAC.

Go to each university's med school webpage and check the admissions page. See what it says there.

(Off the top of my head, UNSW, UWS, UNCLE and JCU have direct admissions).

Gah. I'm stuck on the bit where they ask you "what qualities should a doctor have'.............. i'm gonna end up sending this in on the very last day, just like i do with my assignments.. :(

At least UWS doesn't ask anything like that.

But. i didn't know you had to do that for uncle????? really?

Im doing the hsc/umat etc next year, but if I don't get a high enough uai, I'll do physiotherapy hopefully then work my butt off to get high D's in all my courses then transfer, or if my UMAT is too low I'll just apply for many many many many universities interstate (esp for the ones that give UMAT lower weighting) or just go full-fee paying.
