buying off ebay is just like buying something from the markets, if not safer. i usually buy off the 'power sellers', them being sellers who are trusted and have very high user feedback ratings. alot of the time with these power sellers warrantys come with the goods. and also, some of the stuff is so cheap, i saw a sony cybershop p10 for like $500 once brand new if you bought it straight away. it retails for like $900 to $1000 i think.

yeah i brought my sl55 brand new with case, handsfree and irda thingy for only $500.

just the mobile retails for ~$750 with no accessories

yeah definatley buy the 256.........
get a battery rehcarger, they are definatley worth it, you never have to buy batteries again. and you can buy AAA rechargables form dick smith

there are mp3 players available that have a built-in battery that can be recharged thru the usb port, in australia... JNC is the only one i know of, there's others, like I-bead and Jens-of-sweden, but all 3 brands are exactly the same when it comes down to models.. specs and all

512mb models are available...alas overseas... 256mb should be availiable in australia no worries,

im gonna get a md soon, in the next couple of weeks when i get paid. this one looks nice with decent specs , SONY MZN-910. theres alot of them on ebay for $300 ish.

im not a fan of the internal battery of the MZ-N10. most reviews recommended the MZN-910 ahead of the MZ-N10. but eh, i'll keep looking.

Yeah, I bought the N-910 over the N-10 cause it's cheaper and I didn't like hw the N-10 has that lil nob thing jutting out of the side. And yeah, because of the internal battery as well - although my friend has had it for a couple of years and it still doesn't need to be changed yet. Hmm. But the screen contrast on the main unit of the N-10 pissed me off though... so, N-910 comes out slightly on top methinks.

the internal batt on the n10 is lithium-ion, so it wont suffer from the "memory" effect that the NiMH batts will =), and of course, n10 is smaller and lighter

personally, im too used to using remotes to care about the screen...soo... mehh haha

few yrs ago, i would never have bought an mp3 player with hopeless memory capacity, but now...

its also bit more versatile in the functions it can perform, though the sound quality will never be as good as md,
