Its not me thats doing it, its the admins.

We're debating the merits of it in modland at the moment, please bear with us.

Re: attn ujuphleg

i think it's obvious that we can get used to it  but it's irritating. Was there any particular reason why it was changed? It seemed fine before and the faculty sub catagories were fine.
Please change it back!

There is nothing easier or more logical about this way of categorising, so why change it? Doesn't matter if "we'll get used to it", we were used to the other, easier, format.

Re: attn ujuphleg

Well you know how it is, the bear in your pants wants to bare all etc. etc. :p

Anyway, there are good points and bad points to this

Good - it looks neater, you can see which thread you are looking at in which forum when glancing through thread and eventually the main Tertiary page will be MUCH easier to navigate.

Bad - its an extra click and it makes the forum look small and segregated.

Re: attn ujuphleg

This is my personal experience

I click on "university of sydney" on the main page, and then it comes up with this set of subforums. I sit dazed for about 1 minute before realizing and click "general". And this isn't just the experience of the 1st time. It has happened everytime since.

It was seriously good before the change. It was perfect in fact.

Re: attn ujuphleg

Given the fact that BOS takes hours to load it seems kinda ridiculous to make people spend more time loading pages, pissing them off and slowing it down for other people.

Re: attn ujuphleg

ok, 1 extra click may be a pain
but on the main forum page, u can close up all the forums for the other universities which you couldn't do before.
this does make it a lot easier to navigate

we agreed to do this change ages ago. it is to keep the same layout as the rest of the forums
ie, to keep it the same as the other education sub forums.

if you have any complaints, please do not PM ujuphleg, but PM me directly.

Re: attn ujuphleg

Yeah but that involves us navigating to the unis page, rather than going straight here from the main page.
