I got my yr 12 timetable to find that I have 4 "RFF" (or relief from Face-to-face teaching periods) which means am losing
1 80 min class 4 Italian
2 80 min classes 4 IPT
and 1 80 min class 4 French... plus they r putting continuers and beginners in the same class...

Did anyone have this happen to them? What did u do/ are u gonna do about it???

Well, at my school, we call them free periods. And I have 9 :D. A 36 period cycle, with 9 periods free :D

I have 5 frees. For my subjects I'm supposed to have 5 lessons w/ a teacher every week, but for maths methods, specialist maths (equivilent to 4u?) and chemistry i have 4. It kind of sucks for chemistry because when you take into account SAC periods, we have just 3 lessons of actual teaching (and i use that term loosely).

It only happens to people at public schools. It's an administrative thing which is not local to your school. Good luck changing it.

Well, if you can stay motivated and do the work on your own, you should be right. I mean it sucks, but there are people here who do Distance Education, or Open High school, who have no f2f lessons... you just send your work off to the teacher down in Sydney and call them if you have a problem. I would love to have a regular teacher for German, it's hard because I rarely get to practise speaking exercises.

With the merged French class - just enjoy feeling smart and helping the beginners, lol :)

Sometimes I have period 0 and then no classes for 3 hours so I go home and come back to school at last period
