Each selective school would vary.... And then there is the movement of students from one selective school to another selective school...

Oh okay then,

because i heard that some schools (e.g hurlstone) open up like a whole class for new students which is like around 20 places? so yeah. Just wondering if any other selective schools did this.

As mentioned above some selective high schools open a new class of about 20-25, the BOS makes the selective schools which can handle this do it.
As far as ive been told.

Bit late now isnt it?

some schools make new classes
so 20-30 students for those schools
as for others i think they give you a place only if someone leaves
