Fark, Catholic schools are really cheap and good value for money. We pay like $13 000 + at our school, it so isnt worth it. 14 years at one school with annual fees ranging from $9 000 to $13 000.

Somewhere in the order of $150 000. I want a refund, not value for money.

Thanks everyone. For some reason my school is trying to charge a terms fee (900 ish) for the whole 8 days im going to be there, even though im not using ANY of their resources.

But knowing that other schools dont gives me confidence in rebutting the fee.

We only ever pay for terms 1, 2 and 3 anyway, but in year 12 we pay about $1,300 per term.

We pay a $100 "text book hire" fee and then, if we want to, we can pay a $45 service contribution. Hehe...public schools are cheap.

Yeah and quite a lot of them do far better than the $30,000 per year private schools.

My friend that goes to ANU (he went to a public school as well), he said he finds that most of the students that drop out of university in the first semester are from private schools. He said they cant handle the social freedom and not only that, they cant handle the academic freedom either.

At university most courses don't have compulsary lectures, which means you dont have to turn up to them. Tutorials are compulsary, but they only go over a few basic things. Universities find that people that don't turn up to lectures are the ones that fail.

I know what school ill be sending my kids to, and its not going to be a private school, even if I earn $1 million a year.
