1. Describe the production of polymers from fossil feuls and their uses based on properties.

2. explain why biomass is important as a potential replacement for fossil feuls and give examples of their uses related to their properties.

3. Discuss the use of ethanol as a rplacement feul, giving advantages and disadvantages and disadvantages compared to fossil feuls.

thats my assessment task, i'm getting killed in chemistry. i had a lot of trouble with this topic. please help if you can!!

I don't want to be rude, but honestly, the info you need can easily be found in your textbook.

These are all syllabus dotpoints. I distinctly remember doing notes on them from my textbook. If you dislike your textbook for some reason, I suggest you buy the Mac study guide. Either way, you'll have to actually do work. The reason you get killed in chemistry is because you don't try - I know, that's how I spent all of year 11.

I mean no offense, but honestly you do have to sit down for a few hours and just study sometimes. This is certainly one of those times.

If you have Conquering Chemistry, then use these page numbers for a start:

1) pg 12 to 18
2) pg 22 to 24
3) pg 26 to 31

just know that it's ur hsc... so if u are geniunely needin help, we are all there to help u...
do make an attempt tho... for eg, write wut u think abt the topic, or wut u gathered from the topic... it's alot more writing and readin, but the feed bak can be alot more positive... and pplz can't say u didn't spend much effort:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Describe the production of polymers from fossil feuls and their uses based on properties.
- i am thinkin ethene and polymerisation... gas phase process and zeigler natta process... as regard to properties -> use, here's a lil research u need to do for urself:
HDPE(high density polyethylene), LDPE (low density), PVC (poly vinyl choride), PS (poly styrene)

2. explain why biomass is important as a potential replacement for fossil feuls and give examples of their uses related to their properties.
- ok, why do we want to find a replacement for fossil fuels?!?!!? and what is one defining property of biomass that makes it suitable?!?!

3. Discuss the use of ethanol as a rplacement feul, giving advantages and disadvantages and disadvantages compared to fossil feuls.
- for this q, talk abt
a) how can ethanol be used a fuel
b) its advantages (from how, it should be pretty obvious)
c) its disadvantages (from advantage and how, it should be come obvious too)
d) future direction of research... (ok not in ur asmgt, but good to know for any discussion)
