^^Ditto. I'm averaging a credit I think, as per usual. Won't be expecting anything higher--in fact, I'll count myself lucky to pass considering how much stuff I have to remember for everything.

Re: Semester I 2007 - Chatter Thread!

I've read about 10 pages of 1 subject and about 2 pages for another subject on the 8th of June. So slow.

Feel free to post your "study diary" if you wanna keep track of your progress/motivate yourself/others, etc. Just say what you've read/worked on today.. and stuff

I ate so much but I still feel hungry! I don't know what I should eat.. I don't have any junk food right now

thanks babeh. it sucked how the first three were only 10% assignments though :(
..at least you didn't suck big time on the heavily weighted assessments.

Re: Semester I 2007 - Chatter Thread!

Is it a good idea to start studying from CH1 of a textbook if it's required reading (ie. included in lecture readings)?
I know it's probably not the hardest part (and is unlikely to even be directly tested on..it's usually an intro) but I really want to understand the subjects I'm studying..and it only makes me feel safe if I start from the 'base'/'basics' but it's taking me so much time to even finish the first chapter.. oh gawd, somebody save me!!

Yes, the first chapter is a great starting point (pun unintended). However, you can just skim over the main parts

Thanks stazi..

I seem to complain too much on this thread.. but I don't know where else I can really vent it out.. especially when you already feel like a failure.

exactly..
no point being emo over bad marks
I used to be very hardworking but ever since I went to a school (where people don't really study and if you study too hard people look down on you and think you're a stupid nerd who is boring/too serious) I became lazier and lazier..I hated being a geek so much.

now I just spend most of my time whining and making sex jokes online
such a lazy and stubborn asshole

what's that for? Psychology?
I don't think you'd do that for marketing..

hahahahahahhaha it's very funny if you imagine it happening

there's one subject where I can only get a D (not even HD) if I score 100% in the final
I wish brogan can still feed me chicken if I didn't get all HDs! (or he can pretend i'm a fish and use himself as the bait)

You're right -- I shouldn't have cared about what they think so much.. looking back it was rather silly of me to actually slack off.. once you start it's hard to 'get back' on track again. It's like missing this special train.

it actually was for services marketing :p
The focus on how the psychological process of 'venting' is necessary for customers, as otherwise, the customer will switch service providers and engage in negative word of mouth. Thus, companies need to have more effective complaints handling processes.

Conversely, I didn't try hard at school, at all. Then I went to uni and realised that it would be beneficial to pwn it.

Re: Semester I 2007 - Chatter Thread!

So today I borrowed a book from Short Loan using self-checkout. It's on the Short Loan shelves at the right place, it's got a Fisher Undergraduate call number, it doesn't cause any beeping or anything when I leave the library. I get home four hours later, check MyLibrary and it's been recorded as being from Fisher Reserve, so it's now overdue and accruing fines. Gah!

I've emailed loan enquiries, but they haven't got back to me yet. So hopefully they'll fix it and I won't have to go back down tomorrow to return it.

Yeah, I know. At $2.50 an hour for reserve items, I'm almost there already. Thankfully reserve fines are capped at $30 per book, but hopefully I won't have to pay it anyway, since it's a catalogue screwup and not really my fault.

They're so draconian with it, too. I have something like $27 in fines and the librarian went all Nazi on me for it, confiscating the books I wanted to borrow. Although that's something of an improvement over the $100 or so I racked up last year. The photocopying room and I are good friends these days.
