Uhh I guess it's just coz it requires a lot of effort and work lol.
Plus the PIP is a big project. I have done it and I probably wouldn't have dropped it if I could go back because you do learn some really interesting things from the subject and the PIP.

I think it really depends on whether your a logical of abstract thinker, logical people hate it cuz there is never an answer you are working towards, just processess, investigation.
You either really enjoy it or hate it.

One shit part of the course is that the PIP is really fucking big and difficult, yet is not worth very much in the whole, like 15% or something. On the other hand, the personal benefits are huge, i learnt so much about myself and others through my PIP, i really feel like i understand people better.

- pip is BIG

- work is BORING

Although my opinion is negative. I am not saying you should drop it. I stayed, and i don't regret it, the one i dropped would have been worse for me (Ancient History).

The PIP is worth 30% of our HSC...I think that's quite a large amount lol.

But isnt it woth 30% of just external, in the whole its only worth like 15% or something.

What is the PIP worth in comparison with the Art major work?

Like everything, it scales badly if you do badly.
If you put the effort in, it's sweet.
I personally LOVE it.
I think your friends are telling you to drop it because the PIP is such a huge amount of work. But it's so engaging and you really do learn something that you can use in uni - social research methods.
I say keep it, if you like learning about the world and how it works, and want to be more socially informed.

It is worth 30% of the external. So the written exam is only worth 70%.

Class discussions are interesting. It's just the work which sucks, I only got 3/60 in my prelim exams, and I'm dropping as fast as I can.

I think the pip would probably be a big part of why they said to drop it.. and with reason too, the pip takes heaps of work..
but.. i reckon it's a great subject, definitely worth keeping

Yeahh, i dropped art for year 12 so i wouldnt have to do a pip and art major.. one of my friends did art though, and the major seems to be hard work, but they concentrate on it in class a lot too, whereas the pip is mostly at home.

As stressful as the PIP is, I think it was one of the most worthwhile projects I completed during the HSC.

I had much support from my teacher, school and also my friends.

Completing the PIP is a marathon, but I think for 30% of the HSC mark- it's worth it.

And in the end, your HSC exam is only 2hrs long.
I would prefer that to a 3hr exam, filled with more concepts and social theories. Ugh.

even though the PIP is only worth 15% in the end, it's worthwhile
It's a character building challenge and it'll test yourself
I love the fact that society hsc exam is not 3 hours

imo id rather it 3 hours

2 hours is definately not enough time to complete 2 good essays and the rest

too rushed..
