It differs, but generally you have to be a member of the organisation that administers the work of the faction at the University. As far as I know (and I am operating on second-hand evidence here), the following societies administer the various factions:

I am considering the possibility of creating a permanent organisation based on the RESOLVE campaign, that would be run through the former Sydney Eclectic Composers Society, and would operate under independent lines.
