for 3 unit, it should definitely be 83+, so there isn't much surprise there.

for 4 unit, i haven't done the paper so i wouldn't know. but 119 seems too high in my point of view considering my teachers' opinions.
another silly question, does your teacher can estimate the raw mark for band e4 for both ext1 and 2?
coz your teacher seems give students a lot of information.:D

lol, he didn't' give much info apart from the fact that this 4unit exam was harder than other exams..

yeah, i reckon teachers can give estimate. but mind you, it's not going to be accurate.

what do you personally think?
take a stab,,,,, guess it,,
coz from bored of studies, there was information that
48-52 was the cutoff mark for band e4 for ext1.
and there are two different opinion that it is right and
it it wrong,,,,
wondering what others think.

48-52 wouldn't be a cut-off mark. It's too low. I reckon 56-58 would be the minimum cut-off mark.

apparently 48-52, this mark range came from 2001 hsc statistic....
coz i checked it as well (it is right), but some people were saying
it has been increased after 2001.....
but if you compare exam standard in 2001 to 2,3,4,5,6,7 they
are pretty similar...(pretty good).
can they increase the raw mark cutoff although the standard remains
similar?

Um...

I know someone got 47/50 with 67-71 in 2007.

With that I can give estimate that little over 60 = 45.

Even considering that this exam was harder than 2007, the cut off wouldn't go too low. So it should be about 57.

And 2001 data is not very accurate as it is almost 7 years ago and every paper since then hasn't been same either (and different in difficulty).

i know from BOS statistics, that about 30% of maths ext1 studnets
get band e4, so does the increase of cutoff mark has something to do with
this 30% thing?

Haven't trawled through the whole thread, but does anyone know what the deal is with talent100 giving state rankers money? Does it entail working for them? I wasn't paying attention when they were camping outside my school hall waiting for people to come out (lol).
hahhahah...yeah they recruit the top rankers.

Then those recruits tutor people.

I think that's how all those people like anthony morris, giles gardam, karen lee got recruited.
