The Best Wireless Internet (1 Viewer)

Hey, I'm planning on getting a laptop soon and also want Internet on it. Just wondering if anyone can reccomend a company that offers good wireless that is relatively fast, not too expensive and offers a decent amount of GB for the price.

Doesn't exist. If you want cheap, fast wireless, set up a home network.

I have unwired internet and i can say its ok. Luckily i only spend 3 months a year with the service (i move back to uni for 9 months with real interweb)

Pros
* you don't pay line rental
* you can move it around, so you could 'possibly' take it on holidays, or to a mates place, or to a different room
* damn sample setup. Its idiot proof and almost plug and play.
* pretty good technical support,
but unfortunatly they assume you're dumb as fuck untill you explain your problem in full technical detail. <i>i.e. if you call and say "my internet isnt working" you'll get a responce like "is the power cord connected to the back of the router, and the power plug is plugged into the wall with the power turned on" etc.</i>
* Fine for casual surfing/msn etc

Cons
* Its slow as fuck - opening bos from google takes about 4 seconds.
* expensive when compared to hardwired - but no line rental (see above)
* Coverage (as per the maps) makes the assumption you can position it in a way which your house doesn't affect signal strength
* Not suitable for online gaming

Overall - if you're a small user, who doesnt download movies etc - then its fine. But if you have the intention to download heaps of movies and porn/online games - then this service is not for you.

i used to have unwired until i found out that it was responsible for the interference on my satelite receiver... so ppl with devices that operate on approx 3.5ghz wireless signals may see another con.

EDIT: btw note that different satelite tv channels operate on different frequencies, so not all satelite users will be affected.

i recently got 3 mobile braodband for my laptop and its pretty good. 2gb per month for $24......it runs at 7.2mbps which is pretty fast for wireless.....and its so easy to set up......try it out

Cheapest wireless at the moment is with 3... but if you are just using it at home you're better off with regular adsl and a wireless router.

Can't say I've used it but Vodafone now have a 5GB per month plan for $39 which is the cheapest price I've been able to find. Only downer is that its only available on a 24 month contract.
