Yet i have no idea what you look like...Asquithian said:Well I do own the photos thread. Considering I have close to 400 posts in it.
Well its a crime to London people and people who are in risk of being attacked and doesn't want to be attacked.Casmira said:after reading those quotes about john howard i respect them, but doesnt kim beazley have more quotes on terrorism or are we simply putting in selective quotes
i like the analogy of saying this war is like fighting generic crime however, its so true (but its more extreme)
Well you're a guy anyway, who gives a d@mn what you look like (exclude all females please).Asquithian said:You are a few years too late. All my pictures on this site have been removed.
My first advice would be to not wear a red belt.leetom said:How did mathmite’s picture come into circulation?
Mathmite your belt looks terrible. Fucking tuck it into the belt straps, especially if you’re going to wear a red one....
My, I can only hope so!addymac said:My my appealing to base instincts and providing unsubstatiated evidence.... tsk tsk..... you start work at ACA next week yeah?
I would have liked to have seen more Beazely quotes, but I have to say I'm dissappointed with that particular one. I think in his attempt to get in touch with the people by getting a strong message on national security across (Beazely will never forget the importance of foreign threats), he may insult some of the more informed sectors of the public.addymac said:I'm sure everyone has seen clips and sound-bytes of the two press confereces the leaders gave (I listened to the on news radio lol). ExactlyAsquithian said:Big Kim had to look strong...his 'subhuman' comment was blatantly aimed at winning the xenophobe. At face value it is a comment that is needed. It is a response that appeals to the mainstream. Big Kim cannot get out there and talk about the pros and cons. Balanced discussion does not go well in the political forum. People have no time for that. This of course does not suit big Kim in his longwindedness.
However most know that his comment was not Big Kim in nature. He looks so unnatural trying to be reactionary. You can see he doesn't like to drum up hate. I'm sure he hates what has happened and like everyone I'm sure he hates terrorism. However his choice of words was designed to appeal to the person out there more on the redneck side of the spectrum. Responses in moderation are more what Big Kim is about.
No, look Beazley is a clever man. His attitude has more often than not been genuinely reasonable. But when he starts saying things like that you know it's to win people over. He's trying to punch through with the sound bytes.anti-mathmite said:As am I. I'm very disappointed that he would say something as "red-neckish" as that. These are people with genuine issues. We shouldn't be suggesting that we will hunt them down and exterminate them.
Very let-downish for the Labor party. The only party in Australia (besides the greens) which offers a hope of peace, stability and prosperity to this country. We are a loving and law abiding country.
Suggesting that anyone be exterminated may be in breach of the law, mightn't it?
SARCASM should be unacceptable in News, Current Affairs & Politics.MoonlightSonata said:He was being sarcastic
