AVI itself is actually typically uncompressed, I think. Before compression with a third-party codec such as DivX, AVI files are extremely large... but the existence of these codecs makes AVI's able to be compressed much more effectively than MPG (incidentally, this is probably why you find mpgs to be terrible quality ... because people have to make them low-resolution in order to keep the filesize down). Which codec do these episodes come in?

Yeah, I actually did mean to say XviD. The O.C. is capped in HDTV and compressed with XviD.

yep...its been covered so many times I can't count...but that was a very good version....at a very sad moment...my pesonal fave is Alexi Murdoch "Orange Sky" and Death cab for Cutie...the soundtrack actually has some very interesting songs on there
