oh k i didnt know that, as for lewis i think ponting wanted to quickly finish his overs, knowing the last overs would be very important (though i didnt watch the mathc or cricinfo-so just guessing) . But they really, it was ponting's fault - the game of cricket unlike any other sport, the captains cops all responsibility win or lose or draw- the beauty of the game.Master Yoda said:they coudlnt use hogg because there was a gentleman's agreement between the two captains b4 the series that neither of the supersubs would be used throughout the entire one day series
altho i dont rate lewis AT ALL - i think hes a hack - i feel for the guy, it was ponting who should have known better and not sent him in for 10 overs. it was an unbelievable match and great for the game, but with 434 runs there is absolutely no way we should have ever lost it
and there was absolutely no way that ricky ponting (who had such an awesome batting innings i feel sorry 4 the guy its going to haunt and be used against him forever - first the ashes now this) should have EVER let someone the callibre of brett lee be not given their 10 overs, when he had better figures than lewis anyway - it makes NO sense at all
awesome game of cricket - we dont even have fox anymore, i stayed up till 3 am refreshing the scorecard on cric info
i just wanna hear punter's reason 4 bowling out lewis, only thing i can think of is he had a gut feeling that went horribly wrong
