Australia play a lot of matches?MRCUNT said:380 from zimbabwe in one innings...
lol, he was pretty gud. but as i said australia play a lot of test matches, especially on wickets that favour batsmna, in australia primarily.
yeah tats wat i meant, and about aussie pitches - they are batsman's paradise compared to other pitches around the world excluding trindad and that region.Bookie said:australia plays more test matches.
the subcontinentals play more one dayers.
sorry buddy, that may be true historically but over the past few years, all the aussie pitches seem to be becoming homogenous roads. if it wasn't for having legendary bowlers in warne and mcgrath and class backups like gillespie we'd have won way less games at home.DRAGONZ said:Of those, the only TRUE batting pitches are the 'Gabba and Adelaide Oval. MCG is also a good batting track, generally. SCG offers too much for spinners, Bellerieve too much for the seamers, and WACA is a similar story .. too much bounce for the fast men.
It's not Australia's problem that they can adapt better than other countries to the bounce at the WACA. Or that, India aside, they can adapt to the conditions at Sydney better.
plus nowadays there are hardly any swing bowlers, u have pathan, hoggard, harmison, jones pretty much the england bowling lineup, then maybe akthar. thats it. mostly seamers nowadays.Jimmy_B said:sorry buddy, that may be true historically but over the past few years, all the aussie pitches seem to be becoming homogenous roads. if it wasn't for having legendary bowlers in warne and mcgrath and class backups like gillespie we'd have won way less games at home.
there is little swing offered in Australian conditions. Flintoff got hammered, when he was playing in the restof the world XI against australia.Minai said:If the pom's swing bowling is nullified on Australian pitches, I think England will get hammered in the Ashes.
They sorely missed Trescothick and Vaughan in India, so they're batting is pretty shallow (at the moment, and comparing with the calibre of Australian batting when in form)
he will up there, joined by Tendulkar, Dravid, Sehwag, Yuvraj, Kaif, Oh wait the entire indian batting lineup - lol.Master Yoda said:finger injury's what kept ponting out of the tuor of india
and yeah i think ponting at the end of his career's gonna be the most successful batsman of the modern era n can be named with great names like richards, sobers and the eternal don bradman
