what are you guys wanting to get?
for me anything that gives me a chance into MED by getting an interview. for example if i get 50% and its enough i would be more then happy

Honestly, it's the same with me. I'll be happy with whatever i get, as long as it's enough to get an interview and then hopefully into Med.

Obviously though it all depends on your ATAR as well. Say with you guys, with your expected ATAR's, what sort of UMAT would you need to be competitive for med? Or uni-goers, given your uni marks, what do you need for med?

well im thinking i will get a high 98 or low 99 ATAR. i want to get into either UWS or UNSW med. what UMAT will i need? i think at least 80%+

I don't think my ATAR's gonna be extremely high, like 99+, but i really want to get 85%+ for UMAT. Also, i'm planning to go either UWS or UNSW. Mostly cause they're the closest.

Hey, when you apply for UWS, are you applying as GWS or non-GWS. Just curious. Also, i think its easier for GWS applicants to get in for MED at UWS.

for uws a good umat should be enough to suffice, granted applicants meet the atar threshold am I right? I.e interviews should be offered to anyone with predicted atars at/or above 93.5 -95.5 and have met the umat cutoff?

Hmm but I heard UWS don't count ATARs in terms of offering a place for med. You just need to meet the ATAR cut off of like 93 - 95 or something. But they will give offers based on your actual UMAT + interview only, which seems right because the atar cut off seems a bit low for such a demanding course.

And guys I think if you don't get anything more than 90 for umat. I think you guys can just forget about med haha.

i know this guy that got 99.90 ATAR and 80% UMAT that got rejected from UWS but got accepted into UNSW. so sometimes it just depends on luck i guess.

Uws won't post the thresholds and it changes yearly anyway .. Some guys on the MSO website have attempted to determine what's required if you're willing to search around there lol

If he got 80 overall umat then yeah... thats the highest overall ive seen yet, which is a 100%tile.

He wouldn't have made the basic cutoff if it was 80%tile.

Also last year's umat notification email came the day after the websites had the results up so I'll be checking the umat site every morning this week

It is extremely rare. Maybe that "guy" you know was the only one who got in with those scores.
