When referring to themes in a prescribed text, do you capitalise them?

No, for a very simple reason, the best English writing is seamless integration of thematic concerns to ANSWER the demands of the question, so at the end of the day, it is not whether there is always a compulsion to highlight thematic concerns, but rather there is an inherent need to demonstrate your ability to answer the given question as closely as possible:)

No because it takes you longer to write a word in caps than it does in lowercase.

Thanks all. Sorry I should have clarified - I meant the first letter. Such as Belonging or belonging when the word isn't at the start of the sentence.
