i totally agree there, if they find christmas, the celebration of christ's birth offensive, they should go back to their non-christian home- seriously. they are ruining it for the rest of it, if i went to a musim country like say, Iran, and strutted about in their captial claiming their mosques(sp?) offended me and that i dont like the crappy music and singing i can hear in the city and sun down and how i think making women wear such restrictive clothing in such a hot country is a form of sexism then iam pretty sure i would ebe arrested, maybe even executed for what do they call it? heresy? blasphemy?

so what if they dont want to little baby jesus's inside shops, thats what christmas is about its a religous holiday

I am not trying to descriminate here but just maybe in our own country we should be allowed to celebrate our countries main religous holday and if it offends people of different cultures,

well too f***ing bad

In Australia we are primarily christians and no immigrant is going to oppress or descriminate against me by altering how i celebrate Christmas
whos complaining u fucking prick.............looks like tatood guy found a friend.....

Do muslims seriously do that though? I live in probably the area populated by one of the largest muslim population and i have never hear one complaining about the Christmas displays in the shopping centre. If shops do decide not to display them its mainly due to them being afraid to offend someone...that doesnt mean that they will be offended

erm no i dont agree with him about hating other religions i think what he says is funny but iam not exactly his friend :)
i guess iam complaining because i am saddened that we have to conform to what others say and be super politcally correct, i dont really see how christmas can offend someone of a different religion and if it honestly does they are ruining the fun for many

i take it you dont celebrate christmas? well thats your own choice but do others who dont celebrate christmas really have to try and control what i do with my life?

i have no clue who complained about christmas celebrations being offencive to their religion, iam quite sure this is a minority view, several muslims i know dont seem to have a problem with christmas but for the few that are so unaccepting of other peoples ways[ i.e those who find christmas offensive] why do they choose to live in a christian country? and if they have no choice in living here why cant they be more accepting of their own country

i figure, your in our country...what ever i dont care, your relgion doesnt bother me, when its jammed down my throat it bothers me but otherwise do whatever you want, sing, pray, have fun

Serius, you are a fucking bloody kid. But u do raise some issues. Australia is a largely christian society, and therefore should be allowed to put up their christmas displays. I dont think it is the problem with the muslim society, or any other immigration policy, rather, itis just parania and blatant ignorance.

A lot of western society see muslimity (im speaking from experince) as a really strict religion with no flexibility and lack lusture human rights. But this is a stupid mistake, and such views only spread discomfort, disharmony, rather than striving for unity. People must accept the fact that Australia is now largely multicultural. And as a multicultural society, there must be ample tolerance for differeence betwen cultures. I condone any person who supresses another culture due to conflictings with theirs. Live with it, and tolerate it...

I dont get what you mean by you're in our country. Whose country is it exactly? Muslims were here along with Jews as early as Christians were. Most of the Muslims i know where born here and as time passes the majority will be born here

i have not met one muslim who hates christmas decorations, i mean; have u checked out them houses with all them lights and stuff ? its cRaZy!

that Apportos shop was not in a muslim locality and clover moore's town hall is definitely no where to be found here! Strangely enough, the news channels interviewed a Rabbi over this affair - not the lakemba community- doesnt matter: we all tolerate what each other believes in and as long as its worth doing- dont restrict urself

as for Ac milan, i think indonesian muslims were amongst the first people to establish contact with the Aboriginies, the Europeans thought Australia was a large chunk of desert and didnt bother to land.

santa and the xmas tree and his reinder are huge
and the funny thing is mary in the display is wearing hejab just like a muslim does
they are all dressed like muslims dress

ok, look, we're not against christmas or anything. Fr those of you who are too lazy to look into the history of Islam, Jesus (PBUH) was actually one of our prophets in our religion. We are not against him. Got it? Get it? Got it? Good. Now stop posting all your crap about how people who don't like christmas should go back to their own country because quite frankly, I don't celebrate christmas and if I was to go back to my own country b/c of that, I'd be right here. Why? Because I was born here. So you can't exactly make that statement can you? no.

Yes muslims were here before settlement, but i was actually referring to that fact that when Australia was finally settled muslims were also came and were used to explore the desert as they were skilled camel drivers.

but i also flipped through this book (which i didnt read ) about muslims travelling between Australia and the nearby islands in the 1800s.

Also, When i was in Canberra in yr 9 (war memorial), our guide told us about Afghans in the war against the Japenese in Papua new guniea- he said he was freaked out when he saw a list of Muhammad(s) and Ali(s) i the list of servicemen.........

Yeh it wasnt just Christians who served in the wars, the Jewish population actually had a higher % of people serving than actual Christians
