im going up to melbourne end of september with a mate just for leisure, for the long weekend, we are staying in the crown hotel or something, i wanna make the most of my time there so wat is there to do thats real fun?
You make it sound really, really shit.*go to Luna Park - its shitter than the sydney one, but its still pretty cool. There's a great view from the feris wheel
*shopping - CBD, bridge Road, Ackland street in St Kilda
*Art Gallery, Museum, performing arts centre
*visit all of melbourne's swanky bars in CBD and South Bank
*Aquarium and the zoo
*wander through the beautiful parks and escape the rush of the city
*Go to the markets
*The beach (They're not as good as Syney, but still worth a look)
So we have... shopping, walking around the city, shopping, shopping, shopping, shopping...Just go shopping, bum around the city, go through all the little backstreets and fine the botique shops, go to the markets, go to Chapel St and Bridge road (for outlet centres) and Chastone shopping mall
Our luna park looked like a hole the last time i checked. It looks really old and run down. But in st kilda there are some really nice food places...llamalope said:*go to Luna Park - its shitter than the sydney one, but its still pretty cool. There's a great view from the feris wheel
Don't you guys have the same thing in sydney anyway?llamalope said:*Aquarium and the zoo
Erm, if you want to escape the city, just don't go into the city?llamalope said:*wander through the beautiful parks and escape the rush of the city
We have some pretty good markets scattered around the place...llamalope said:*Go to the markets
Like you said, if you guys have better beaches, why bother going to ours?llamalope said:*The beach (They're not as good as Syney, but still worth a look)

i love melbourne too. i'm going in jan next year, hence why 75% of my weekly wages are being "put away" for my bad shopping habits.
MaryJane said:There is also a restaurant called 'in the dark' or something similar which is run by the blind society. You order your food, get taken to this pitch-black room, and enjoy your food! Your senses go wild! I had to eat with my fingers because I couldnt coordinate them! And people walk around whispering in your ear, or tickling your neck with a feather. And its so communal- all the diners talk together despite the fact they are all on different tables.
you can continue being the original House. i have a massive crush on House. so there there, let me stroke your ego instead.Argonaut said:OI, cahnge your av! I was the original House and I'm the one licenced to practice sarcasm. Just ask certain other users.
