Just looked at this:

https://my.unsw.edu.au/student/academiclife/program_transfer/program_trans_Sci.html

Apparently for transfer, I need a minimum overall WAM of 75 (I'm hovering on 82), and have a minimum maths WAM of 80 (I'm on 86)...

Good chances?

Now I realise I surpass all the admission criteria, but obviously there are things like limited spots and the like which I have to take into account. So can I assume that because Maths/Arts is a very, very, very niche degree (I don't even know anyone who does it), there'll clearly be open spots or am I missing something else?

Wow, maths/arts! Why the change? Enjoying your english subject this semester eh? (I read it somewhere... I'm not stalking you, I swear)

Looks like you'll be pretty competitive to transfer. HD average in maths, nice one! And like you say, I don't think maths/arts is an overly popular double degree, so you should be right. Do you have anything in mind to major in in arts?

Oh hai Deer!

Umm, basically because I did well in English at school plus I wanted to fall asleep in my Finance lectures (and that's supposed to be my 'major'). I actually didn't take a English subject this semester, I'm taking one next semester. Little bit of trepidation on how they'll teach it at uni but... it should be better than Commerce.

And as 4025808 said above, English will be the major.

Thanks for replying by the way (I thought this was going to sink into the depths of ???)!

Oooh that's exciting! And darn, thought you took english this semester. Need to polish my stalking skills (I mean, what?)

Yeah english at uni is different to school. It was very strange studying Emily Dickinson at uni and not studying her through the Belonging filter. Quite refreshing, actually! I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Though I did miss creative writing, even though I didn't really like it at school. I found philosophy a little infuriating and tedious at times, but that was probably just me!

Haha that's quite alright, I always try my best to salvage threads that have begun the descent into ???.

Yes, you should refine those... "keeping tabs skills", that's what I call it-- err, I mean. nvm.

Hmm, but English at uni sounds fun. With no 'filter'... it seems to mean a proper study of text which should be awesome. Creative Writing is something I figure I can do in my spare time, but I think I picked some Creative Writing units in the "plan" I set out for myself.

We'll see. Hopefully it'll be good.

You should come UNSW too Deer! It'll be awesome. Mini-BoS lunch meats erryday.

Anyway I will cease my off topic ramble.

Ohhh so you got in. Nice! See, there's always hope. (oh and tell me how it is being in the giant jenga block, i always wondered what it'd be like there)

But yes, you should totally come to the next meat... on January 14! It'll be great.

And so to keep on topic:

Yes, I am still considering responses to this topic of transfers.

Mitch, yup I'm transferring to Design (visual communication) at UTS. Was going to transfer to fine art at USyd but I thought I should probably gain some form of employable skills, haha.
