hmm, i know is that a gpa of 2.5 would be the equivent of around a credit mark.

as for the subjects, you can still transfer, its just that you can use the units youve already done as cps for the new course, if it is one of the units you can do at the new course

dont know about the other stuff, sorry:p

right now im doing stat170, econ110, mktg101 and comp115
i know commerce (what im trying for) doesnt have comp115... so does that mean only 3 of my subjects which i do this half will count towards my commerce degree?

yea, although the commerce degree has electives so i suppose you can choose comp115 for that
check with the undergraduate handbook if its one of the electives.

I'm planning to transfer to Commerce as well. I'm pretty sure all u need is a GPA of 2.0 (pass average). Its in the handbook on page 30, or u can call the student enquiry hotline for more info.

I'm doin econ110 & mktg101 as well, i think in Commerce these r core units neway. As for comp115, it mite count, but it depends wot u wanna major in, i guess.

Btw wot degree r u currently enrolled in Orange Juice?

I guess the main diff between Com & Com-Mktg is that u have to major in mktg, where as in B.Com, u can choose wot u wanna major in.

As to wots easier, depends on da person, if u r really interested in ur subj. u should be fine.

so realistically you could still major in mktg and hence turn your degree into bcomm mktg?
cuz if so why wouldnt eveyone do that instead of limited their majors

I am planning 2 major in Mktg, but i dont wanna go as indepth as u would in the BCom-Mktg degree.

In the generic Com degree, theres not as many core units meaning theres more free credit pts for electives.

not sure if this applies... but sometimes there's a quota where even though you met GPA min. another student who got higher than you is accepted but you aren't because of the quota.

Eg transfering to LLB GPA equals 2.0 (easy no?) but has a quota... :(

LLB = Law

As for a quota on transfers in2 Com, i dont think there is one. I read on the MQ discussion boards somewhere, that as long as u meet the requirements, u can transfer.

i'm looking to trasnfer as well...
but to b.appfin/b.ec...

you can use your credit points to count as electives in the degree you want to trasnfer. so, your comp115 isn't a waste.. and plus isn't a level 100 comp unit core in b. commerce??

here are the links for the courses you want:
b. commerce - mktg: http://handbook.mq.edu.au/programofstudy.php?code=FV001
and
b. commerce:
http://handbook.mq.edu.au/programofstudy.php?code=CW008

by the looks of it, b.com-mktg is much more structured than the generic b.commerce. but then again, on your transcript it will say B.COMMERCE MARKETING.. not just B.COMMERCE like the general degree!!

...yeah..why do they offer a general comm degree ...like, in trms of a career - what position in a company will b.comm give u without majoring in e.g accg/mktg/acst ?

e.g b.comm in usyd.

you know i never did understand why they offered the different types of commerce degrees...

it seems to me that macq uni isn't that flexible. at usyd under the b. commerce degree, you'd pick your majors/minors and then follow the core units to complete that major, so you can have any 2 combinations you want. unlike macq's degrees where they have pre-set programs of study...

i think in terms of career, it doesn't make a difference... i mean a b.comm- mktg does the same core units as a b. comm with majors in marketing.
