I currently just finished my first year of engineering (software) at UTS and put in an UAC application to try to transfer into UNSW engineering. I also just put USYD as a gag, since I thought I wouldn't possibly be able to get in. In a funny turn of events, I did not receive a UNSW offer but instead received a USYD offer for the 2025 intake.

My main questions are, is it worth transferring? what's the engineering subjects like? Are they wildly difficult? Has anyone been in the same situation/transfer and how's it going now? Is the coursework very different from UTS? I would also like to know what campus is better, what the situation on the people there (from all the reddit posts it seems people at USYD are rather arrogant).

I would also like to know whether the subjects I've done so far are eligible for a credit transfer/RPL for the USYD first year subjects:

Business Requirement Modelling- 77 (D)
Foundation Maths- 54 (P)
Introduction to Engineering Projects- 63 (P) (failed the first time in sem 1)
Programming 1-89 (HD)
Programming 2-50 (P)
Systems testing and Quality Management-84(D)
Database Fundamentals (77) (D)

I chose not to complete the Maths 1 and 2 units at the time due to studying Standard Maths 2 in y12 and ended up learning Ext level maths on my own, so I know those credits from first year would still need to be done, which I'm fine with.

Im abt to enter usyd (undergrad) and one reason I chose it was cos of the campus and convenient location. And so far, I haven't had any issues nor come across any 'arrogant' usyd ppl so cant say much abt that. All i've heard is that its mainly in the colleges but i doubt it'd affect classes etc.
