Hoping to get a solar filter for my telescope.

I remember the 2004 transit well. Was in Year 11 and a science teacher had set up a very large pin hole projection

Rainy and cloudy in sydney. Can't see it clearing up by tomorrow. WHY?!?! :'(

Sure, I can watch a live feed, but it's just not the same!

it's a clear blue sky in newcastle :)
unfortunately i don't know where i can go to view it
With special glasses, just look at the sun and you should be able to see it. Don't look at the sun directly though

You can project the image of the sun onto a piece of paper or something, either using a telescope, binoculours or a piece of cardboard with a pinhole in it (although this might not give you sufficient resolution to actually see the shadow of venus, it'll be pretty damn small)

wonderful managed to see it in a 30 second break in the clouds

Whattayaknow? Clear blue skies in Melbourne in the midst of a week of rain.

... And I forgot my camera.

Damn Murphy's Law. Contemplating driving home to collect it.
