What do you have to do to get your name in the paper?
There must be a reason her name was in paper....Originally posted by Adam
Um, no you don't. When my sister did it, she didn't get any makrs above 80, and her name along with everyone elses was in the paper, but I'm not sure which paper.
yeah, thats impossible....maybe it was in her skool newsletter/community newspaper?Originally posted by jm1234567890

There are far to many HSC students to place all of them on the paper
so is that it now? too bad if i don't want them published? i don't even remember signing anything about that but surely it can't be too late to change it...?Originally posted by Macccca
you had to tell them ages ago when you were signing that subject choices paper, you could tick if you didnt want anything given out or something

the board i think actually sends all of us a letter informing us that our names mite b published, and in it there is an option to choose not to allow them to publish ya name....but then again, who wouldn't want their names published in the newspaper, if u get above 90?
i know. and it's not totally unlikely i'll get band 6 as i am first in all my subjects except one. i just get creeped out by the idea that people from my school, my old school, as well as teachers etc are going to be looking for my name/student number to see how i did. i'd really rather keep it private even if it is something to be proud of - it's my business and i don't particularly want to show it off.Originally posted by natstar
yes u do have rights not to have ur marks/name published, but only the ppl who get 90+ in subjects get published, whats the shame in that, id love for everyone to kno i got 90+ in a subject. Anyway they dont publish the specific mark just ur name and the subject(s)
nah, just sooner is better i guess, and make sure you tell them to reply, the lady i spoke to on the phone was a total bitch about it so i wrote in my letter something about awaiting their response for a confirmation of action being taken. if they don't reply i intend to hassle them with faxes every dayOriginally posted by gloria*
do you know if there is a date by when we have to inform them?
yeah its okay for some but i'm just not keen on the whole world knowing.Originally posted by sugared plum
oh that is so good.
They should stop publishing the marks altogether. It's shit.
no way!!Originally posted by frenchy
i thought it was your student number and uai, published in the newsaper?
