and the gun shootouts were awesome.
the fast paced moment threatening the culture of the amish people even further.

can i sugest going to your local library and see if there is any note book things on wittness, i did that and found them ever so usefull

sure am .. gotta love a movie of clashing cultures. lol, more nudity then i had xpected from the amish though.

brainstorm of Witness by Peter Weir. Sorry its only brief, spending the day studying and doing practise essays for upcoming trials! :headbang:

Important scenes
- opening scene (funeral and amish setting)
Train station
- toilet murder
- barn raising
- eating hot dogs
- bathroom scene

Themes
- Violence vs Pacifism
- Collison of two worlds
- City vs country
- construction of masculinity
- police corruption
- Religion, values and beliefs
- BEARING WITNESS.

Structure
- orientation - opening scenes, funeral, city
- rising action - murder in toilet, book moving to amish world etc
- climax - shoot out in barn
- falling action - john book has to go, puts bird house up etc
- resolution - can't be with rachel, leaves amish world, daniel walks to Rachel's place.

Cinematic techniques
- camera angles
- camera shots
- LIGHTING
- DIALOGUE
- MUSIC
- SETTING
- COSTUMES

Can't stress this enough.

Use more vague scenes for examples.

Avoid using popular scenes like the homicide, gunfight and the yelling match between Book and Paul (LOL), the "What a wonderful world(it would be...).

Markers will look nicer on stuff they haven't read a million times before.

Use scenes like the funeral, the train ride (into a new world?! hint hint related text scene hint ; )), and the whole silent/awkward goodbye scene.

Hope I havent burst anyone's bubble. You have a day or two so meh :D

Yay Witness tomorrow!! is it just me that has no idea what the movie is about.Like my teacher played the movie about 300 times in class and every time i had a PSP at the back playing games
