I'm ok-ish content with my % and (estimates of) ranks (because we're not told our ranks in year 11 I don't think //cries), especially with the subjects in where I'm actually helping people. I find teaching others reinforces my grasp on the concept more than the people I'm actually explaining to tbh:)
Yeah, self explanation is one of my study methods

Guys I got 30/45 for my AOS half yearly (it was a pretty bad concept, "seize the day"). Do you guys think I should consider standard? Considering I'm about grade average right now

Nah man that's actually quite the result, it must mean you got

10 / 15 for Short Answer Response

10 / 15 for Creative Writing

10 / 15 for Essay

That's actually heaps good, I reckon you should stick around in Advanced :D

DO. NOT. DO. STANDARD.

Unless the alternative was a very painful death, but you know what I mean

Nah it was all over the place, 14 for short answer, 7 for creative, 9 for essay

But I didn't prepare my creative idea so

Why not? If she/he is going to do badly at adv, then it may be in their best interest to go to standard. I mean, no amount of scaling will up your score to say 90+ if you're at the bottom of the cohort (or think you may be in the bottom half) unless you go to ruse. (haha stereotype much?XD)

It's really up to buitifulpeople, what he/she reckons he/she'll do better at.

Dude that's heaps good... like not the creative or essay, but you clearly do have (cheesy language alert) potential c: You just need to put in the effort
