its never too late
true that, it's not late for hsc but it's a bit late for yearlies

I'm planning on taking 4u math if I pull off a 80%+ for my 3u yearly exam
last test I got 69%, fingers crossed I'll have to work my butt off to do it
technically I'm allowed to take the subject coz I just made the cut off but I'm not comfortable with taking the subject unless I'm in the top 25

I understand concepts pretty quickly but I have to smash all those people who do all that extra tutoring etc etc. They have so much more extra experience up their sleeves

every1 will start with a clean slate for 4u, u can study hard and stick to the top of the cohort that way

Extra tutoring doesn't always translate to better marks :)
I don't do tutoring and at the moment, am beating people who do tutor in my cohort :D I had that mentality back in the beginning of the year, then actually went tutoring for maths for 2 terms, before quitting because my marks dropped. Tutoring just took out time which I could have better spent elsewhere. IMHO tutoring is really only for those who have long attention spans lol

^ why I don't do tutoring. Two of my teachers constantly complain about my lack of focus but I'm planning on studying really hard and trolling them for yearlies

The reason why I'm slightly worried is that apparently some of my classmates have already learnt the whole 4U course o_O surely that helps with yr 11 maths.

uh I don't think that much content is translated across - don't take my words for granted though since I haven't and won't be doing 4U maths haha
If this helps - my sister's friend has been tutored a great deal of year 12 3U math content and is currently not doing very well at her school (top 5)

*I take back my previous statement

Tutoring is only for people who have long attention spans OR forcing them young kiddies taking the selective/OC test to actually study for dat test haha :D I mean, who, in primary, freaking studies?

yeah I think what you're saying is pretty valid. I go to a top 5 school and my rank for 3u math is above average so I'm pretty happy because I haven't even gone full out yet. (although I do think my school sucks at math compared to other selectives)
