Are there any other methods to make it into a selective school. I have heard students saying they got into Hurlstone AHS and other selective schools using a 'portfolio' method and not HAST method.

if its a partially selective school, you could join as a mainstream or enrichment class student, then study hard and apply for the selective class. one of my classmates has done this. 'enrichment' classes are classes that some schools offer that do advanced maths but still do their other subjects in mainstream.

Yep, Year 11 but it'll be kinda hard getting used to how things work at tech lol. If you don't mind me asking, where abouts do you live in terms of the region? I'm around Parramatta so two trains to get to tech next year ๐Ÿ˜…
i live in the campbelltown (south west sydney) region so about 1.5 hrs each way by train commute to tech... i hope its worth it tho
